Mary “Phyllis” Smith, 94 of Vienna, OH formerly of Drum Point, MD passed away peacefully at her home on January 6, 2022. She was born on January 1, 1928 in Baltimore, MD to the late Mary Fern and James Joseph Wheeler. She was the loving wife to James Albert “Hoke” Smith whom she married on January 18, 1946 in St. Thomas Catholic Church, Baltimore, MD. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2011.

Phyllis graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Baltimore, MD and went to work as a Telephone Operator for C&P Telephone Company. She enjoyed knitting, crochet, and reading. Phyllis was a Calvert Co. resident from May 1976 until July 2019.

Phyllis is survived by children, Gail Lambert and her husband Irv of Vienna, OH, and William Smith and his wife Tamra  of Ramona, CA; daughter in-law, Patricia Smith of Ellicott, City, MD; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, James Smith.

Pallbearers will be Irv Lambert, Gary Purkey, Nolley Fisher, Thomas Fisher, Frank Boeckmann, and Dylan Boeckmann. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lukas Boeckmann, William Smith, Brion Smith, Brandon Smith and Jorrett Smith.
