Mary Katherine Frazer
January 19, 1954 – November 25, 2021
It is with great sadness and love that the family of Mary Katherine Frazer announces her passing on November 25, 2021. Surrounded by her husband, Mark, and her loved ones, Mary passed away peacefully at home in North Beach, Maryland.
Mary was born on January 19, 1954 in Sullivan, Missouri to Virginia Sue Harman and Frank Mercer Kirby. She graduated from Bladensburg High School in 1972. Mary began her career as a cosmetologist. She wore many hats along the way as a hairdresser, waitress, caterer, real estate agent and lastly, she worked for many years at Dunkirk Dental Associates. After a 24-year relationship, Mary and Mark Frazer were married in a beautiful ceremony on the Chesapeake Bay in 2016.
Mary was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her outgoing personality and genuine love of people impacted many. Mary, affectionately referred to as “Kiki” by her grandchildren and many others, lived life to the fullest.
A few of Mary’s favorite things were traveling, golfing, playing cards, and the arts. Mary’s love for travel led her to explore near and far. She enjoyed traveling with Mark and her friends, and frequently traveled out of the country. As a member of the Cannon Club in Lothian, MD for many years, Mary loved the game of golf and joining her friends at the 19th hole. Whether Mary was painting, creating pottery, or enjoying a live performance at the theater, she loved the arts and was proud to be a founding member of Artworks at 7th in North Beach.
Mary will be fondly remembered as an outgoing, loving, and friendly person. Mary’s beautiful smile and infectious laugh made her extra special and couldn’t help but to have a good time while in her presence.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Mark Frazer; her son, Joseph Mattingly and his wife Shannon, her son, Jeffrey Mattingly and his wife Tina; stepdaughters Suzanne Hardisty and her husband Charles and Linden Re and her husband John; grandchildren, Marley and Lily Mattingly and step-grandchildren Lindy, Kayla, Sean, Rebecca, Michael, Ryan, and Lauren; and step-great-grandson Kasey. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Kirby and his wife Kathy, along with nephew Kevin Kirby.
Family will receive visitors on Thursday, December 2, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Rausch Funeral Home, Owings. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday December 5, from 2-5 PM at The Cannon Club in Lothian. Memorial donations in Mary’s name may be made to Calvert Hospice.

Oh Mary, what a loss you are to North Beach…I remember you as a happy, enthusiastic woman, oh the fun we had in the Chesapeake Beach Players. You will always be remembered fondly. 💖 my heart breaks for Mark and the family.
Mary will be missed by everyone she met. She was an awesome person and a great friend. I will miss our monthly card playing, as we always had so much fun together. I had the pleasure of knowing Mary since the 80’s when we were on a weekly bowling team for almost 10 years. Those were the days! See you again one day, my friend ❤️
Mary rest in peace dear friend. One of the first people I met in CC. One of your many talents was getting people together. Between bowling, cards and the fun girl trips we will miss you. Life will not be the same without you!
Love you Mary! 💜
My deepest sympathy to Mark Jeff and Joe.💔
