Mary Cecelia Duffy, 87, of Owings passed away December 30, 2022. She was born January 3, 1935 in Washington, DC to Stephen and Anna (Smith) Garrity. Mary was raised in DC and graduated from St. Gabriel Catholic School. She married William Duffy on November 19, 1955 and they lived in Berwyn Heights for many years before moving to Owings in 2002. Mary was employed as a bus driver for Prince George’s County Schools, retiring in 2002.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband William Duffy, son Robert Duffy, and sisters Martha Starling and Ellen Hakes. She is survived by her children Stephen Duffy of Owings, James Duffy of St. Leonard, Linda Dodson of Owings, and Edward Duffy of Port Republic, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law Denise Duffy.
