Marilyn Elizabeth Crider
December 3, 1926 – September 9, 2023
Marilyn Elizabeth (Enos) Paddy Crider, 96, of Chesapeake Beach, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on December 3, 1926 in New Bedford, MA to William M. and Eva (Yates) Enos. Marilyn moved to Chesapeake Beach, MD at the age of 20 to marry James J. Paddy, Sr., with whom she shared her life until his passing in 1980. She later married Jennings Crider, who passed away in 2000. Marilyn worked as a waitress at Chaney’s and Rose’s, but mostly enjoyed being a homemaker. She took excellent care of her family, as well as many of her fellow Beach residents. Her favorite pastimes included watching soap operas, playing slots, reading a good murder mystery book, playing cards—especially five-hundred rummy and poker, and going to the American Legion for a bull roast or a dance.
Marilyn is survived by her loving daughter Barbara Paddy of Chesapeake Beach, her son William “Earl” Paddy and his wife Denise; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James J. Paddy, Sr., her second husband Jennings Crider; sons William, Jimmy, and Donald Paddy; brothers Steven Joe, Sonny, and Billy Enos, and her sisters Edith, and Carol.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn’s name to Hospice of the Chesapeake.
