Lila K. Donovan-Frederick

April 20, 1947- January 18, 2021

Lila K Donovan-Frederick (Braden) , 73 of Lusby MD, passed away peacefully on January 18,
2021 at Georgetown University Hospital shortly after being diagnosed with Fahr’s disease.
Lila was born in Germantown PA to John Gordon and Lila Kathleen Braden. She was a
graduate of Germantown High School. She was a buyer for Strawbridge and Clothier in
Philadelphia for many years. Lila had a lifelong love of biking, even earning many metals
including 1st place in the Womans Pennsylvania State Championship in 1967. She married her
high school sweetheart Timothy Donovan in 1969, and had two daughters Jennifer and Diana.
The family relocated to Cape May, NJ in 1975. Lila worked at the Lobster House Restaurant for
over 35 years. When she wasn’t working, she was doing aerobics, riding her bike around town,
or sitting on Philadelphia Ave beach. She had an amazing green thumb, and her house was
always filled with plants. Lila had a strong faith in God and was a longtime member of The First
United Methodist Church in Cape May. Her greatest joy in life was being a Grandmother. Lila
was widowed after 46 wonderful years with Tim. She was blessed to find love again with
Charles Frederick. They were married in 2010, and moved to Lusby MD. Lila and Charlie
enjoyed traveling the world together. They spent their winters in Ft. Pierce FL. They were truly
fortunate to have had 12 beautiful years together. Lila is predeceased by her parents, John and
Lila Braden and her late husband Timothy Donovan. Lila is survived by her husband Charlie,
her daughters Jennifer (John) Hoffman, and Diana (Tim) Poullott, sister Susan Braden-Farmer,
grandchildren Jacob and Logan Poullott, Morgan and Noah Hoffman, step children Annette
Jackson, Paul (Jill) Frederick, 8 step grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, and countless
nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her sweet, gentle, considerate nature. Lila
was a friend to all and loved by all who knew her, and will be deeply missed. Special thanks to
Annette for her compassionate care of Lila during her illness. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a
memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date. Details to follow. In lieu of
flowers, a donation can be made in her name at your local animal shelter. Condolences may be
extended to the family at www.rauschfuneralhomes.com

I am so sad to hear this news. It was a privilege to always be there for Lila when she needed her hair cut. My prayers for strength and peace for the entire family at this most difficult time. Rest in Lila.

So sorry to hear of my good friend Lila’s passing. I miss her friendship and caring ways. I especially miss the treats she shared with me. She was such a good cook. It was always fun meeting up at the gym and sharing good times together. My thoughts and prayers are with
    you Charlie and family.

Good friends are irreplaceable; and Lila was one of the best! We have been honored just knowing her, and spending the last 30+ years together during the winters and summer visits! Anyone that knew her as a friend will tell you that she was only one a very few individuals that could make you feel like YOU were the most important person and friend she had in the whole world – – – that was Lila! She is, and will be missed immensely. RIP Bruce & Darlene Bossen
