Leila Jean Lucas

If if knew the last time I hugged you goodbye would actually have been the LAST time I got to hug you, I would have held on tighter and much longer! 
Leila and I met when we were five in kindergarten at Heather Hills elementary, Bowie, Maryland. We were inseparable. We grew up together and were in each other’s weddings. We saw each other grow and raise our families. Although our friendship was very rocky near the end, I still loved her very much. Now I think about what I could’ve done better how could I have made things happier between us? That I will never know, but one thing that I do know is that no matter what, she was my best friend/sister and I will miss her every day for the rest of my life! I’m going to remember the good times, the inside jokes and laughter and all the fun we had summers at Rehoboth beach together. Rest in peace, forever!
