Twenty two years ago I was at the Chesapeake Beach library and this outgoing guy (Mr. Robey) struck up a conversation with me. We introduced ourselves telling each other our names. I asked if he had a daughter named Carol who graduated from Northern HS. He confirmed he was Carol’s Dad. I explained I had graduated with Carol. From that brief yet interesting discussion 22 years ago, I am reminded what a really nice outgoing person Mr. Robey was. Truly a cool, nice, outgoing person. I send my condolences to Carol and anyone who “crossed paths” with Mr. Robey.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Jane’s husband, Larry, but from all my chats with Jane over the years of playing in my online poker clubs, I learned what a good husband, father, and loving family man Larry was and that his last years with his illness, were very difficult for all. Jane will miss him terribly and my heart goes out to her. My condolences to all family and friends, especially the children and grandchildren.
With deep sympathy,

On behalf of all the members of “big black dog” and “cops and robbers” online poker stars clubs… Our deepest sympathy and condolences to family and friends.
Larry and Jane made me feel like part of their family when Jane’s brother Bobby Lee brought me to their house from Louisiana to visit. I had known Jane and Jane’s Mom, Ada when Bobby Lee and I were teen sweethearts. Many years later Bobby found me and we reunited. That’s when I got to meet Larry! What a character! He teased Bobby and complimented me. I felt like I had a wonderful big family!!! Larry and Jane came to visit us in Louisiana too. I love that family. They were blessed to have Larry as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and many were blessed to call him friend!
Larry, you were a Legend on Deforest Drive… all the ladies loved you and all the men wished we had your swagger. You set a precedence on how men should treat their wives & families. I’m sure you’ll be chuckling from above watching all us men scrambling to get flowers for our wives since you no longer will be taking care of that for us. It was always a pleasure talking to you as you always had a great story to tell. You’ll be missed by many but you have definitely left your mark here on earth. May you rest in peace. 💙
To the Robey Family – we enjoyed being your neighbors from 1989 until we moved in May 2010. Larry, Alan Brown, John Kennedy and Venton could be located on Deforest Drive in the evening chatting away until the mosquitos started biting. It was a great neighborhood and we all looked out for each other. Now Larry, John and Alan’s kids and grandkids are living in the houses and the next generation is on DeForest Drive and I think that is great. We will miss you Larry and all the stories you told. I will miss seeing you at Union Church. You loved the Lord and we know you are with Him now. You have an amazing family who took good care of you in your past few years when your eyes started failing you as well as other health issues. I enjoyed all of Wendy’s videos of you and her and you always had a kind word to say – even though Wendy would get on your nerves. Fly High Larry and tell Donna we miss her too!! Until we meet again! Venton, Becky and the Chaney family
To the Robey family, I never got the chance to meet him but I have been a witness to Wendy’s videos and stories as well. It felt like I did know him. All I can say and speak of is what I know. I know that you played a major part in Wendy’s life and her daughter Lailah’s as well. I’m sure the rest of your family also. You have done a great job and now while you will be missed; you are moving on to be with your Lord and Savior, where you won’t have to worry about any sickness or pain anymore and you will be able to see it all again. Continue to watch over the rest of your family as I know you will. Rest well in paradise, Sir. You raised a true tough cookie in Wendy, with the love and support of family and friends. She’s got this!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼and I will be praying for her all the way!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼sending my heartfelt deepest sympathy & condolences to the family & friends.
Mr. Larry was something very special!!! He was by far one of the most kind and caring people I have ever had the privilege of meeting and he always treated my daughter and me like family, just as the entire Robey family has. You will be missed, Larry, but the beautiful mark that you left in this world will forever be remembered ❤️❤️❤️. Enjoy your much deserved eternal rest!
