Kerney Lee Smith “Connie”, 86, of Broomes Island, MD passed away on April 10, 2024 on Broomes Island, MD.  Connie was born December 15, 1937 to Lawrence and Virginia Wright in Fairfax, Virginia.  Connie a long time resident of Calvert County raised three children with the late William C. Smith.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Connie is predeceased by her parents and husband.  She is survived by her three children, Connie M. Smith of Broomes Island, MD; Debbie A. Smith of Winchester, VA; and Jim Smith of Virginia. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday April 15, 2024 from 10-11 AM at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Rd., Port Republic, MD 20676.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.  Interment will be held at Waters Memorial Cemetery in St. Leonard, MD.
