Kenneth Warren Smith, 63, of Chesapeake Beach, MD passed away at his residence on July 14, 2013. He was born October 3, 1949 in Cheverly, MD to Thomas Scott and Georgetta Mae (Brandenburg) Smith. He was raised in Capitol Heights, MD and attended public schools in Prince George’s County. Kenneth married Florence Dianne Cowan in Upper Marlboro on November 22, 1965. After getting married, the couple resided in Lothian. Kenneth worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Maryland State Highway Department, retiring in 2006 due to a disability. Kenneth moved to Chesapeake Beach in 2005. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, listening to country music and spending time in his “man cave.”

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne on July 24, 2012, two sisters and one brother. He is survived by daughters Kim LeeAnn Curtis and Nikki Smith, both of Baltimore; fiancé Geraldine White of Chesapeake Beach; and step-children Jessica Lynn Harrison of Chesapeake Beach and Christopher M. White of Warsaw, VA. Also surviving are grandchildren Kenneth Bryant of Essex, MD, Diane Bryant of Baltimore, MD, Scott Tarut of Fredericksburg, VA, Karizmah Smith, Traemari Brooks, both of Baltimore, Cody Edward White, Miranda Harrison, both of Chesapeake Beach, Karliegh White of Piney Point, MD and Connor White of Bryans Road, MD; great-grandchildren Kamron and Kobe Bryant, and Samahya Thomas and Dennis Thomas, Jr.; and siblings William Tebo of Virginia, Sheila Barrier and husband Ronnie of Pasadena, MD and Alfred Kirby, Jr., of Baltimore, MD.
