Kenneth Allen Horky

Kenneth Allen Horky, 80, of Lothian passed away June 29, 2026, at his home. He was born September 15, 1945 to John Charles Jr. and Thelma (Lake) Horky. Ken grew up in Pasadena, MD where he graduated  from Severna Park HS in 1963.  He joined the United States Air Force in August of 1963. He met and married the love of his life, Dorothy Weisbacker while stationed at Andrews Air Force base on December 12, 1964.  He was honorably discharged in 1967 and started his career as a surveyor with Potomac Electric Power Company (PEPCO).  From there, he went to work with Southern Maryland Electric Company (SMECO) and settled on the family farm in 1978. He worked his way up the ranks at SMECO eventually retiring as a lineman after many years of proud service. In his spare time, he enjoyed NASCAR, RV camping, fishing, boating, and crabbing with his wife, Dorothy.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Horky, his parents, brother John Charles Horky III and sister Beverly Hudler. He is survived by his daughter Karen Frantz and her husband Gary and grandchildren Jennifer Clark and her fiancé Jake Mastroberti and Alan Clark and his wife Leah, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
