May 14 – Obituary: Kelven Eugene Johnson
I did not know Kelven personally, but I grew up with his wife, Karen. Through her love and admiration for her husband, I came to understand that he was a fine, honorable, and productive man. We have truly lost a good man.
My heartfelt condolences to Karen and the entire family.

I met and worked with Kelvin at Morgantown Power Plant years ago. He was slow to start but once engage he worked and was very knowledgeable. For all you power plant people, Kelvin was the person who noticed unit 2 had a dripping main steam line and brought to management’s attention. This is a big deal at a power plant as the steam line was cracked at a weld and if it had gotten worse and failed before the unit was removed from service, it would have been catastrophic for the plant and personnel.
Kelvin was quiet and we talked some as we worked the rotating shifts making it through another day.
I am sorry to hear about Kelvin and want to off my condolences to his family and friends.
