Keith Rawling Nave, 60, of Upper Marlboro passed away on May 22, 2022 after an extended illness.

Keith was born on June 28, 1961 to Thurman Orville Nave and Erna Arlene Rawlings in Washington, DC. After graduation from Gwynn Park High School, he earned an Associate’s Degree from Prince George’s Community College. Thereafter, he enjoyed a long and successful career as a Project Manager and Draftsman in the home and condominium industry.

Keith loved outdoor sports including hunting, fishing, and trap shooting, and was an expert marksman. He spent many hours watching the deer and turkeys in the field surrounding his family home. He also enjoyed NASCAR, golfing, and was an avid Washington Redskins and Tennessee Volunteer fan. Most important to Keith was spending time with his family. He was a very determined person; struggling but overcoming many health issues.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents Thurman and Erna (Arlene) Nave and his twin brother Kevin Reed Nave. He is survived by his brother Lyndon Charles Nave (Stacie) of Chesapeake Beach and his sister-in-law Donna DeGroat and her daughter Kasey DeGroat of Myrtle Beach, SC, nieces Karli Eade (Matt) and Elayna Ware (Holly), and five great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who called, visited, and took care of Keith over the years. He will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life for Kevin and twin brother Keith will be held on Sunday, July 24 at the American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206 in Chesapeake Beach from 1-4 PM.

In today’s world with so much division, we need more Keith Nave’s. Keith was good man, always fun to be around, loved everyone, and was just so cool and collected.

I met Keith through friends when I was in college. Keith was a really nice person, and I will never forget the great Belmont and Indy 500 parties at his house, the Daytona 500 trip in 2001, the RV trip to see Tennessee football to name a few.

May you rest in peace, friend.

I have nothing but great memories of Keith especially the many Redskins games, Caps games, NASCAR races, and countless concerts we attended. Keith was a good man and a great friend for nearly 40 years.

You will be missed. Dave Couchoud

June 3 – Obituary: Keith Rawlings Nave

Worked with both Kevin and Keith for many years. Keith and I were members of the same ski club and roomed together on our ski trips. One of the most memorable times in my life was Keith, Kevin and I white water rafting down the class five Gauley river in WV.
My heart is truly saddened! Condolences to the family!
