Keith Anthony Adams, 59, of Owings, Maryland, passed away on January 13, 2026 at his home. He was born on March 10, 1966, in Washington, D.C., to Barbara (Glover) and Homer Adams. His family moved from Washington to College Park when Keith was 10 years old, and he attended DeMatha Catholic High School, graduating class of 1984. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Engineering at University of Maryland, College Park, and worked as a mechanical engineer for the Architect of the Capitol for 33 years. He married Diana Carter on January 16, 1993, and they made their home in Greenbelt, Maryland, before moving to Calvert County in 1994. Keith volunteered much of his time to his community; he was an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and coached football and basketball at Huntingtown High School, Northern High School, and for the Beach Buccaneers Youth Club. He was a passionate supporter of University of Maryland’s college football and basketball teams. He enjoyed collecting Marvel and DC comic books, and going out to dinner and a movie with his wife. His greatest love of all was his family, and he cherished the time he spent with them.
Keith is survived by his wife of 33 years, Diana Carter Adams; their children Jared, Alexys, and Nia Adams; grandchildren King, and Kai Adams; brother Michael Adams (Jenifer), niece Leah Adams, Goddaughter Megan Goldson, and a host of extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Homer Adams, and his nephew, Aaryn Adams.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday January 29, beginning at 10:00 A.M., with Mass to follow at 11:00 A.M., at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Community, 1601 W Mt. Harmony Road, Owings, MD 20736.

Keith was a wonderful man. He was my coach on how things worked when I first got to the Architect of the Capitol. I could always count on him for advice or a hint. He handled the stakeholders on his projects really well. I’m sad to hear he’s passed, so young. My condolences to his family, and to the AOC where I’m sure his solid, caring presence will be missed.
