Karen Ann Denney, 66 of Owings, MD Passed away on December 13, 2022, at Calvert Health Hospital. After a 4 month fight with a rare stage 4 bile duct cancer. Born October 11, 1956, in Bronx, NY, She was the daughter of the late Henry Shepherd II and June G. (Hall) Shepherd. She attended Potomac High school in 1975. She worked in many trades including, American Metal Fabricators.  Later, retiring from Auto Zone in 2019. Karen enjoyed cooking, bird watching, collecting Lenox Birds, and spending time with her family.

Karen is survived by her husband Charles Denney Jr.; daughter Holly Bennett  (Joseph); granddaughter; Kamber Bennett of Owings MD, brother, Brian Shepherd of Lusby, MD; sister, Bonnie Davidson (Gary) and nephews, Gary Davidson, Jr. and Tyler Davidson of TN; brother, William Shepherd of WV, nephew, William Shepherd, Jr. and niece, Courtnie Shepherd; brother, Douglas Shepherd of MD; brother, Thomas Shepherd (Casey) of MD and niece, Kaitlyn Barnes; brother, Henry Shepherd (Gayle) of MD and nephews, Justin Shepherd and Brandon Shepherd; brother, Scott Shepherd and nieces, Isabelle and Grace Shepherd of FL; and brother, Eric Shepherd of MD,  nephews, Christopher Morris (Amanda) of VA and Shaun Shepherd, of MD; and nieces, Tammy Peters (Sam) of VA. Nephew, Michael Shepherd; niece Tina Shepherd.

She was preceded in death by sister, Marion Morris and her husband Edward Morris; nephew, Edward Morris, Jr.; brother, Melvin Shepherd; sister, June Shepherd, brother Robert Shepherd
