Joseph Allan Maloof

  • June 13, 1959 - September 11, 2026

Joseph (Joe) Allan Maloof passed away very unexpectedly, but peacefully on September 11, 2026, at the age of 67.

Joe was born in Portsmouth, VA on June 13, 1959, to his parents John Robert Maloof and Sally Towle Mallof. He had an older brother, John, and a younger sister, Cindy. As a Navy brat, he lived in various places as a child including, Puerto Rico, Florida, Maryland, Georgia and eventually back to Maryland. Joe graduated from Great Mills High School in 1978. While in high school, he attended the Tech Center where he learned boating and career skills. He was a member of the Hornets baseball team and played for one year on the football team.

Jow eventually joined the U.S. Army for 10 years, where he became a well decorated supply technician. He was stationed in Germany for a good part of his army career, which is a place dear to his heart. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the army, Joe remained in Germany for a few more years. He enjoyed the German culture and had an awesome time touring Germany and nearby countries by car or motorcycle. After leaving Germany, Joe returned to St. Mary’s Cpunty, Maryland where he continued to live and work as a supply technician until his retirement and death.

Joe loved the great outdoors especially while boating, FISHING, hiking, and motorcycling on back country roads. He loved watching sports on TV, like baseball, football, and tennis: and even was an assistant coach for a little league baseball team. Though he lived in Maryland, his favorite football team was the Green Bay Packers. His greatest passion was FISHING. While on vacation as a child, he discovered his love for fishing while fishing the rivers of Freedom, New Hampshire. As an adult he spent many hours and days fishing in the open waters of the Chesapeake Bay in his own boat which he treasured. He took pictures of his amazing adventures, vacations, and fishing trips, as well as all the big FISH he caught and spent time putting those pictures into albums.

He loved watching classic old western movies, some of his favorites were Tombstone, and The Outlaw Josey Wales. His brother-in-law eventually nicknamed him “Josey Wales”

Joe loved helping his family and friends out whenever possible. He had a caring soul and made regular donations to Various causes such as Saint Judes Children’s Hospital and Tunnels to Towers. He will be remembered not only as a beloved brother and son, but also as a truly beloved friend.
