John Paul Barony, Sr.
July 29, 1957 – February 12, 2024
“Big” John Paul Barony Sr, born July 29, 1957 in Buffalo, NY to Paul and Wanda Barony, passed peacefully in his sleep Feb 12, 2024. John graduated Calvert High in 1975 then enlisted in the Air Force, stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas where his 3 oldest were born. He continued to serve his country after active duty at Bolling AFB, as well as the Pentagon, and welcomed a baby girl.
His passions included his work, building houses and decks, and coaching his sons youth sport teams. He was an integral part in the first Solomons Steelers football team. He could also be found on the baseball diamond in the springs for Calvert Babe Ruth and Little League. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his players, including keeping in contact for the last 30 years.
Although spread across the country, he loved his kids, and grandkids, very much!
John is preceded in death by Sabrina (Daughter), Paul (Father), Shawn (Brother) and Baby Austin (Grandson). He is survived by his children John Jr & Lisa, Keith, Brian & Kashia and Brianna & Mathew as well as grandchildren Caden, Madison, Jayden, Tristan, Hope, Arielle and Step Grandchildren Tyra, Seth and Bernhard, Wanda (Mother), Scott Bowen (Brother), Laurene Brady (Sister) and Melissa Johns (Sister).

My condolences from South Carolina. It saddens me to find out that John had passed away. I knew John for years and I knew he loved his children very much. He was proud to have served his country.
It helps me to know that he is in Heaven and is no longer in pain.
May he watch over all his love ones. He will be missed very much.
My heart breaks for all 💔
