John Kenneth Larson
April 25, 1959-Β December 3, 2020

John Kenneth Larson, 61, of Dunkirk passed away on December 3rd, 2020. He was born April 25, 1959 in Tokyo, Japan to father, Lee Scott Larson and mother, Ann Larson. John was raised in a military family. He lived in many places, but his favorite location was in O’ahu Hawaii for twelve years. In his adult years, he lived in Dunkirk Maryland and Palm Harbor, Florida. He graduated in 1977 at Largo High School. John married his wife Julie on October 21, 1989.
John held many professional and personal titles, but his greatest was his commission as a Warrior and follower of Jesus Christ. His identity was grounded in the blood of his Savior, and he dedicated his life to that calling. No matter what type of place or situation, he always found ways to own that calling and share the Gospel to all people. He was always so positive, no matter the circumstances, and he inspired and touched so many people throughout his life. John loved his clothes, even after his stroke in 2013, he would always come to events out dressing everyone else. He loved his sport cars, he cherished them throughout his twenties and thirties until he and Julie started their family. John loved his family. He was so proud and found so much joy in his children and grand-children. He picked up his cross daily, and he will be missed by so many. He is no longer bound by his physical disabilities, and is now in heaven, walking hand in hand with his Savior.
John is survived by his loving wife Julie, his sister Katherine Gotsis, his son Scott Larson and wife Valentina, his daughter Brooke Rathmell and husband Matthew, and his son Brandon Larson and wife Rebekah. Β He is also survived by his grandchildren, Benedict, Oliver, Lincoln, Luella, Emma, and Rome.
The viewing and service for John will be held at Crossroad Christian Church in Saint Leonard, Maryland. In appreciation of the dedicated work and assistance provided by Christmas in April, Johnβs family asks that donations in his memory be made to that organization. I am so sorry to hear of Johnβs passing! He fought the good fight and I know he is receiving his due reward! Julie, and your dear family, I pray the God of all comfort holds you tight in His grip and provides for all your needs during this difficult time!
I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. I met John and Julie when he was admitted to CCNC For Rehab and Nursing Care. I was one of his main Nurses caring for him daily, until I left there. I can tell you that considering the obstacles that he had to bear, He had the spirit of A Warrior. Whenever I Was Having A Really Bad Day, I Would Go To His Room Because John Always Laughed And Joked With Me. He Assured Me It Would Be Okay And Tell Me To Pray About It Because The Lord Was Great!!! I Enjoyed Caring For Him And Getting To Know Julie As Well. I’ve Never Met Such A Loving Couple Thar Truly Loved The Lord. John Taught Me ,” Just Give It To God.” I Take Comfort In Knowing That John Is In That Great Place With His Almighty Saviour Walking Again. My Sincere Condolences To Your Family. π π π π From Your Nurse, Melinda B.
I’ve been truly blessed to have John as my best friend and Christian Brother. Praise The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit for our experiences with John. He was always ready with Faith, Joy, Comfort and laughter. His friendship truly was truly a Gift!
