John Jerry Hollowell, 88, of Bethesda, MD passed away on July 18th, 2013. John was born in Takoma Park, Maryland in 1924. He attended Iowa State College; commissioned in US Naval Reserve, serving as a PT boat officer in the Philippines. He graduated from the University of Virginia and was employed by C & P Telephone as District Plant Manager in the Washington area. He retired from AT&T after divestiture as a General Manager.
An avid golfer, he was a long time member of the Bethesda Country Club. His marriage to Browne Hollowell ended in divorce. He is survived by his second wife, Donna Hollowell, and children John J. Hollowell, Leigh C. Hollowgrass and Peter B. Hollowell, granddaughter Clara S. Hollowgrass, brother James C. Hollowell and sister S. Jean Caine. All services are private.
