John Andrew Tucker, Sr., 74, of Upper Marlboro passed away January 19, 2015 at his residence. He was born January 28, 1940 in Upper Marlboro to Andrew and Roberta Elizabeth (Tippett) Tucker. John was raised in Upper Marlboro and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and Frederick Sasscer High School. He was employed as a residential electrician with A.P. Burgess and Carter Electric. John married Carolyn Mary Anderson on September 22, 1962 and they made their home in Suitland for 20 years before moving back to Upper Marlboro where they resided for 32 years. In his leisure time John enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and deer hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Mary Tucker; daughter Ginger L. Higgs and her husband James of Upper Marlboro; son John Andrew “Andy” Tucker, Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Huntingtown; grandchildren Amanda L., and Cody J. Higgs, Ashlie N., Andrew J., and Alyssa D. Tucker. He is also survived by his mother Roberta E. Tucker of Upper Marlboro; sisters Mary Ann Farrell of Greenbelt and Betty Jean Strange of Collins, MO; and a brother Joseph Earl Tucker of Upper Marlboro.
