In Loving Memory of Jeffrey Lee Walker

Jeffrey Lee Walker, born February 2, 1959, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, hard work, and friendships that will not soon be forgotten.

Jeff was the son of the late Otis E. Walker, Sr. and Kitty Walker. He was the brother of Otis Walker, Debi Manning, and Penny Garrett.

Jeff was a proud member of Steamfitters Local Union 602, where he spent many years working hard and building a life he could be proud of. After retiring, Jeff put his talents and determination to work in a different way when he started Walker’s Garage. There, he spent countless hours doing what he loved—restoring old cars, tinkering in the garage, and enjoying a tasty beverage with good friends.

Jeff was truly a kind soul with a good heart. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to someone who needed it. He had a generous spirit and a way of making people feel welcome, especially those who wandered into his life and somehow became friends.

One of Jeff’s greatest accomplishments—and perhaps one of his most entertaining adventures—was taking his tiny house and turning it into a monstrosity. What started as a small home became a place where he could rent rooms, meet new people, and, naturally, make even more friends to share stories, laughter and a beer.

Jeff was a hard worker. He spent many years making up for some of the time he may have lost during his younger days, when he and his friends occasionally spent perhaps a little too much time enjoying themselves. Those years were part of Jeff’s story, and they came with friendships, adventures, and plenty of memories that those who knew him will carry forever.

Jeff had a way of living life on his own terms. He worked hard, played hard, helped others when they needed him, and never seemed to run out of another project, another old car to work on.

He will be remembered not only for the things he accomplished, but for the good heart behind them. For his generosity. For his friendship. For his stubborn determination. For his sense of humor. And for the many people whose lives were made a little better simply because Jeff was in them. Though he is no longer in the garage, working on an old car or sitting around with his friends, the memories he created will continue to bring smiles and laughter for years to come.

Rest easy, Jeff. You’ve earned your retirement. And knowing you, there’s probably a garage somewhere up there that needs a little work.

A memorial service celebrating Jeff’s life will be held at a later date. Family and close friends will be invited to gather to honor his memory and share in remembering the life he lived. Details regarding the service will be shared with those invited.
