December 22, 1926- February 24, 2020

Jane Etta Goeller Cory, 93, of Dunkirk, MD, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Jane was born on December 22, 1926 in Collingdale, PA, one of nine children born to Theodore Agustus Goeller and Jane Booty Doughty. Jane graduated with the class of 1945, then went on to work as support staff at Fine Arts Sterling Silver Co. She met Robert Lawrence Cory, the love of her life, in New Jersey and were married on August 22, 1948 at the Methodist Church in Media, PA. They spent their honeymoon at the Poconos Mountains. Jane and Robert had five children together. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family, church, and community, and serviced them all faithfully during her lifetime. She was a wonderful homemaker and she especially enjoyed sewing, cooking, and entertaining. In her spare time, she enjoyed antiquing, garage sales, and tea parties. Jane also enjoyed dabbling in politics and campaigning for her favorite candidates. As a devout Christian woman, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Graham, where she served as Sunday School teacher, part-time bookkeeper, and chair of numerous committees. In addition to the Baptist church, she taught bible classes at her local Presbyterian church, Women’s Home Bible Studies, Aglow Ministries, Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Deale, MD, and Grace Brethren Church, where she was a member for 30 years. She dedicated her life to the Lord and to teaching and praying for her family, friends, community, and country.
Jane is survived by her husband, Robert Cory of Dunkirk, MD, daughters Linda Hans of Waldorf, MD, Nancy Gardner and husband Jim of Dunkirk, MD, sons Billy Cory and wife Terri of Fort Washington, MD, Steve Cory and wife Cyndi of Arlington VA, and Ken Cory of Dunkirk, MD, 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, a sister Margie Standen and husband Dave of Media, PA, sisters-in-law Beatrice Owens (Tom), and Jane Ryan. I’ll Always remember that beautiful smile and excitement she had when she saw you. And the Love she had for her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. And that special Love of her life, her husband of 70 years. God Bless him and keep him close. 😘
So blessed to have known Jane for so many years. Her love and devotion for her Lord and family were always paramount in her life. She was a mighty prayer warrior and you could always count on her to pray. I’ll always remember her for her green thumb and the beautiful flowers in her yard. She loved life fully and everyone in it.
Our prayers are with Bob and all the family as we know how much she will be missed.

Jane was a warm and wonderful lady. We always enjoyed seeing her at our bee meetings and looked forward to anything she brought to our potluck dinners. She was lively, witty, funny and a pleasure to share company with. We will miss her.
I have so many beautiful memories of Aunt Jane and the family. Because of the miles between us I did not see her often but each time was Special. One of of my favorite memories was the aroma of baked goods whenever I visited! Even though she shared her recipe for my favorite, blueberry tea cake , when I make it there is something missing without her touch. Just as I know her touch will be missed by all who love her
I have known the Cory family all of my 65 years of life. Her wonderful spouse Bob was the best man at my mother and fathers wedding 66 years ago. We attended family picnics, and visited their Temple Hills Md home as a young kid and teenager many times where my siblings hung out with their wonderful kids for hours. I will always remember Mrs Cory.s wonderful attitude about life and her laugh. I last saw her a few years ago at my fathers funeral and we spoke for a short time remembering all the fun times we had growing up with them in our lives. I still see and talk to a few of her kids, Linda and Billy and it is always the same how fun life was back then. RIP Jane
