James Earl “Jimmy” Moore
December 31, 1942 – April 12, 2024
James “Jimmy” Earl Moore, 81, of North Beach, MD passed away on April 12, 2024 in Huntingtown, MD with his daughter by his side. He was born on December 31, 1942 in Washington, DC to the late Grason C. Moore and Mary Donahue. He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on January 17, 1966.
Jimmy is survived by his three children Brian ‘Doc’ Dunleavy and his wife Mary of Saucier, MS, Robin Drury and her husband Jeff of Huntingtown, and James ‘Jimmy’ Moore of North Beach, and brother Carl ‘Sonny’ Corley of Ocean Isle, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren Olin Dunleavy of Chicago, IL, Michael Drury and wife Brittany of Owings, Ty Dunleavy of Shaw AFB, SC, Tara Dunleavy of Saucier, MS, Joshua Drury of Owings, and Shelby Drury North Beach, as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with Jimmy’s children, his grandchildren brought so much pride and joy to his life. He never hesitated to brag about their latest accomplishments.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia “Annabelle” Ann Moore, in November 1992. There was not a day that he has not missed her. The family takes great comfort that they are together again in eternity. Jimmy was also preceded in death by his siblings Grace Vallandingham, Margaret McMahon, John Moore, and Raymond Brown.
Jimmy had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all his life experiences: sheet metal, Krick Plumbing and Roland’s Grocery. Although he could no longer ride, he had undying love for his Harley Davidson. Win or lose his heart bled burgundy and gold for the Redskins. From December to June, he would occupy his time with the horse track.
He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them-and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly.
A visitation will be held on the April 29, 2024 at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane, Owings, MD, starting at 11:30 A.M., followed by the service at 1:00 P.M. The burial, with military honors, will follow at MD Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD.
