Helen V. Hardy, 95, of Clinton, MD passed this life on November 28, 2019 at the Assisted Living in Dunkirk, MD after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Helen was born in Yorkville, Ohio on July 11, 1924 the daughter of Chester and Alexandria Kosikowski. She graduated from Yorkville High School in 1941 and came to Washington D.C. to pursue a career with the Government. She worked for the IRS, Govt. Printing Office and after 38 years retired from the Treasury Dept.

She married George E. Hardy in 1945 and had 4 children. In 1960 she moved to Clinton, MD where she resided until 2009. Helen loved her family immensely and was proud of all their talents and accomplishments. She will be most remembered for her unconditional love and support of her family, her many acts of kindness, her words of advice and her faith.

The one thing she loved so much was being able to polka dance, and Blobs Park was a place she spent many happy hours dancing.

Helen is survived by her 3 children Kathleen Cooke of Chesapeake Beach, MD, George Hardy (Peggy) of Clifton, VA, and Stephanie Hynes of Prince Frederick, MD. Grandchildren Michele Walker, Pamela Corridean, John Cooke III, Kimberly Marr, Eric Hynes, Ashley and Heidi Allahiari, Michael Hynes, Autumn Beyer, April Peterson; great grandchildren Claudia Killerlane, Jessica and Michael Wise, Madalyn, Mary, and Samuel Beyer, Bryce Peterson, Elias, Emma, and Alexander Marr; great-great grandchild L.J. Nocente, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband George, son Robert J., parents Chester and Alexandria Kosikowski, sisters Florence DeVault and Vivian Moore, brothers Thomas and Morris Kosikowski, and great-granddaughter Erica Killerlane.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Calvert Hospice and Yellowbank Assisted Living, who provided excellent care for her during her final days.
