Guy Henry Hall, 100, of Prince Frederick, MD passed away on October 10, 2025 in Solomons, MD.

It is with deep love and great sadness that we announce the passing of Guy Henry Hall, who departed this life on October 10, 2025, at the age of 100. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend. Guy is    remembered for his warmth, compassion, and unwavering support for those around him.

Born on February 21,1925 in Aquasco, Maryland, to his parents Charles Everett and Emma Essex Hall. Guy was the fifth of seven children who grew up in Calvert County in the farming community. He devoted himself to agriculture, working the family farm along with his brother Robert (Bob) L. Hall and sharing his knowledge with others. Guy worked in the construction industry in earlier years with Bowen & Hammett Construction and L.H. Bowen Construction. After taking the tobacco buyout in the 90’s the Hall Brothers Farm transitioned from tobacco to vegetables, greens, sweet potatoes, mums and small grain. The next 25 years he spent his time enjoying customers stopping by and chatting, purchasing flowers, potatoes and greens and taking them for rides on the Gator. He could be found during baseball and softball season riding his Gator to the park to watch young players enjoy the game he loved as a kid and young adult.

Guy is known for his generosity, volunteerism and strong work ethic. He served on the Maryland Agricultural Commission from 1980-1986, was an election judge in Calvert County for more than 60 years and held leadership roles on the boards of Farm Bureau, Farm Credit/Production Credit, Federal Land Bank and Maryland Tobacco Board. He extended his commitment to service as a member of the Lion’s Club, Farm Bureau, and Trinity United Methodist Church.

Over the years he enjoyed playing baseball, golfing, hunting, raising and training bird dogs, card games, checkers, cooking, family gatherings, gardening and watching younger family members play various sports.  His family and friends will always remember his cornbread, sweet potato pies and that he always had room at the table for whomever dropped by during dinnertime. Guy touched the lives of many through his kindness and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Guy is survived by his son Guy J. Hall (Karen), daughter Kimberly H. Roof, grandsons Joshua M. Slocumb, Hunter P. Roof (Allison), sister Lucille H. Malone, sister-in-law Carole H. Bowen and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Gloria H. Hall (nee Heckner). Guy will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

October 18 – Obituary: Guy Henry Hall

So sorry to hear of Mr. Guy’s passing.  I have know him and remeber his brother Mr. Bobby well.  I have known them since I was a small child.

I can remember those beautiful tulips in his front yard.  Sometimes during mum and sweet potato season I would stop and help him.  We always had some laughs and tell me some stories of him and my Dad.

He was a kind man and loved people.  He always remembered your name.   May he rest in peace.  May his family and friends remember the wonderful memories.

Kim, Jeff and Lucille… I am so sorry for your loss. I feel like I have lost another brother! I thought Guy and Bobby were my older brothers! We spent so much time together when we were young. Tobacco season and dove hunting season were very special. Love all of you!
