Gregory Michael Morawski
October 10, 1947 – October 5, 2022
On October 5, 2022, Gregory Michael (Greg) Morawski, a beloved father, husband, and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 74. Greg was born on October 10, 1947 to George and Ida Morawski. Greg grew up in Hamtramck, Michigan and excelled in sports in his early years and throughout his life. He joined the United States Air Force after graduating high school in 1965. He was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base where he met the love of his life, Mary Lou. The happy couple was married on September 18, 1971. Greg was a lifetime civil servant working as a civil engineer for the United States government, as well as various contracting companies. He retired from his full time duties in 2015. Greg was an avid sports fan and, begrudgingly, followed the local Washington teams but was sure to keep his eye on his beloved Detroit teams as well. He picked up golf as a hobby after retirement and was an avid player with church members and friends. Greg was preceded in death by his father George, mother Ida, and sister Andrea. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou; son David; daughters Amy and Shelley; grandsons Charlie, Jacob, Mason, and Micah; and granddaughter Abby . He was greatly loved and will be missed by many. The family will be holding a celebration of life service and visitation at Emmanuel Church in Huntingtown, Maryland from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by a formal goodby, with military honors, to take place at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Calvert County Animal Shelter.
