I am so sorry to hear about Miss Gloria. Miss Gloria was very special to me. I met her through Calvert Elks. We enjoyed each other at the Elks and we spent a lot of time outside of the Elks; going to lunches, going shopping at Walmart, and just spending time together talking about the old old days in Calvert county. She made me laugh and she gave me wise feedback. I love her very very much. She’s a special friend to me and always will be in my heart and soul, and I know you’re in heaven now with your beautiful husband, but you always will be beside me, and I can just look over and see you smile and make me laugh. I’m very thankful for our friendship that we had, and I’m so happy that we spent time together. I love you, miss Gloria, and thank you for everything. You brought a light in my life and I’ll never forget you. Love you always, Donnie, Dawn, Donnie, and Gracie.
She loved you and your family Dawn. Thank you for all the kind words. I thank you for always being so nice to her and if I couldn’t do something, she would call you and you never failed to help her out, never. You were always there for her. She is back with daddy, I know that makes her happy so that makes me happy. God bless her!
Alice, Dave & family
Both of us have suffered a major loss this past week. But together we will help each other get through this. You know I am here for you, and you and Dave have always been there for me.
It’s sill hard for me every time I look next door and see Carl and Gloria’s empty house. They have lived there for as long as I can remember. nd some of my best memories were when we were all together. So much has changed in the neighborhood where it used to be all family and relatives. And you know I don’t adjust to change very well.
I will wrap this up by just saying, I miss Gloria being next door every day. And Alice, I hope you and Dave stay put for at least a little while longer. Just long enough for me to adjust (about 20 years should do it).
My sweet Jack. Mom loved you very much. She loved it when you went with us to Ocean City. It never was the same without you. We do have a lot of wonderful, precious memories. Just thinking about a few of them can make me laugh out loud. Dave and I are not going anywhere anytime soon. And if we do go, I’m dragging you with me. I love you Jack!
We are so sorry for the loss of your mother, Gloria. For many years we all looked forward to Gloria coming to Huntingtown United Methodist Church to play Hand, Knee and Foot. She loved to play that game and was really good at playing cards….I would say close to being a Card Shark. She was fun to play with and could keep you laughing. We were so sad when she fell and wasn’t able to play cards with us anymore. She is in Heaven with her dear husband Carl and our Good Lord. RIP Gloria With Deepest Sympathy Bob and Theresa Trott
Thank you Theresa for your kind words. Mom loved playing cards. She tried numerous times to explain that hand and foot game. It just sounded like some childhood disease to me. Bottom line – she enjoyed being with friends. She did miss daddy so much. I will miss her terribly but she is so happy now being back with him. That brings my heart much comfort and joy.
Sylvia, it was good seeing you yesterday. Every time I saw you, you were always so kind and asked about mom, always. Thank you for that. She will be greatly missed. I have many good memories of her and daddy. They are back together and I know this does make mom very happy.
Your Mom, our Aunt Gloria. Roy has so many wonderful memories of you, your dad and your mom, growing up next door. We were chatting tonight and reminiscing through the years of Christmas Eve gatherings, crabs and picnics with croquet and your dad’s delicious homemade ice cream. So many great memories and I feel blessed to have shared many of them over the last 48+ years with Roy and your family. Whenever we traveled home to Calvert County, we always popped over to visit with her. We will miss her laugh, her jokes and she would give the best hugs. We send you healing prayers and we know she is with your dad, watching over all of your family. We both love you.
Our hearts are broken for Miss Gloria’s passing. She always had a smile on her face and was always very pleasant to be around. Mike always enjoyed her coconut pound cake that she would make him around the Christmas holidays. We will also miss her at the HVFD bingo’s! She LOVED her bingo nights!
Robin, she loved your husband. She loved the entire Wells family. We go back many many many years. She enjoyed making him that coconut pound cake. And did she love her bingo or what. I called her the bingo queen and whatever you do – do not sit in her place at the fire department. She truly loved everyone at HVFD. Everyone was good to her and when I had to call them, Mike always showed up. I will never forget the kindness and respect showed to mom.
Gloria and I started working together in 1967. She was at Tom Rymer’s office and I joined her to do the State Attorney’s work and remained there until 1971 when I moved to Courthouse. We remained friends and I brought her to work, and Alice to Calverton every day. She was a great friend and we have lots of memories over the years. Gloria always looked so good and was such a hard worker. I thank God I had the opportunity to have known her and to be able to call her my friend. Mary Gott
