Frances Ann Modlin

August 5, 1930- March 14, 2020

Frances “Ann” Modlin of Lanham, Maryland, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020. Ann was born to Sol and Mozie Reece of Alamo, Tennessee. She is proceeded in death by her husband for 49 years, Joseph C. Modlin, a NASA Engineer. She is survived by her four children, James Light, Richard Light, Nancy Carpenter, and Suzanne Modlin, and their spouses, her three grandchildren, Jarratt Light, Nicholas Carpenter, and Corbett Light, and four great-grand children.

Ann was born in Alamo, Tennessee in 1930. She moved to Lanham, Maryland in the 1950’s, where she met Joe Modlin. Ann worked as a secretary for the Prince George’s County School System. After retiring, they moved to Laurel Maryland, where Ann enjoyed sewing, traveling, taking classes at the Senior Center, and spending time with her family, and many friends. Ann’s sense of humor and zest for life, will forever be cherished by her family.

Donations can be made in Ann’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
