Florence Ellen Wallace-Lindsay, 71 of Lusby, Maryland, passed away on October 18, 2019, after a long and hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born to the late Mary Corean Barefoot and William David Wallace.

Some of her many commitments included the Calvert County Fair Board, The Ladies Auxiliary to the Southern Maryland Volunteer Fireman’s Association, Company 7 Alarmers-St Leonard Fire Department, a 4-H Leader/Volunteer, the Calvert County Election Board and Women of the Moose.
Her true loves were her family, kids and grandkids, her pets and her students on Bus #74.
Known as the “Coupon Queen”, when she wasn’t busy with her volunteer commitments, Florence enjoyed spending her free time attending Blue Grass Concerts, craft show hopping, playing local BINGO, and for the love of her country.
Florence is survived by her children Patricia Eason, Lisa Eason-Locy and Charles Lindsay Jr., 8 grandkids, and 4 great-grandkids. She is also survived by her siblings, David Jr, Jeanette, Mary Hellen, Sammy and Calvin.

Flo, you are my best friend. We have been through marriages, birth of our children, death of our parents, divorces Our grandchildren, working together volunteering at the fire house, fairgrounds. Now I will face it alone but I know you are in heaven looking down and being my Guardian Angel. I talked to you every day when you got sick and look out girl I will talk to you still. You loved your children, grandchildren, dogs, cats so much. When we could not handle something alone we would talk and sister I will still be talking to you. I am thankful we had 58 yrs as friends. I am thankful to your children, sisters & brothers for always including me into your family. I pray that never stops. I love you my friend. I know you are with our God now and have no more pain. And I can only imagine that you are driving the big yellow bus and taking them all to your Blue Grass Shows with God as your guide. Love you my friend.
She welcomed me and my kids to the 4-H club with a smile. She worked so well with all kids. It was no wonder that she started driving them to school. I am sorry for her family’s pain. Just keep her in your heart and she will never be gone. All my Love
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Flo was a special lady and will always hold a dear place in my heart. She loved being an Election Judge working her precinct on Election Day! She always found a way to ride up with the deputy election night with the results as she loved my lemon bars and begged me to save her some for when she got there! I always did for sure! Also she was wonderful with all the 4H kids at the back gate of the fair. We would always save her some snacks for the kids to give to her while working the livestock gate at the fair. I will always have fond memories and we will truly miss her.
So sorry for your loss. Florence had such a big heart and so generously took pictures at all of our reunions of our classmates. Really looked forward to her Christmas card every year with pictures from our picnics. She will be greatly missed.
I did not know “Ms. Flo”, but I have heard of the kindness, care, and love she showed to her students as a bus driver – sending cards, buying treats, and attending school functions (plays, performances, graduations, etc.) to show her support to her students. The world needs more people like Ms. Flo. It seems she demonstrated that its the little things that count. To her family & friends, I’m sorry for your loss. May the memory of her acts of kindness continue to be an inspiration to everyone.
Such a caring lady!!! Her generosity was always appreciated and her dedication to her job was evident! Thank you, Ms. Flo, for driving my children safely to school everyday for almost their entire school career. You were a bright spot in their day, no matter how it went, and always showed each child just how important they are!
To my awesome, wonderful friend. I think one of the things that always made me smile was that you always treated everyone with respect, even if you didn’t particularly like them. You still made them feel like family. Oh, you would get grouchy sometimes, but they always ended up being your friend, at least from my point if view. I know when you told Doug and I that you were sick, we cried. I wanted to call every day, but for some reason, I didn’t. I think it was because I didn’t want to acknowledge the fact that you were going to die. Losing you just wasn’t in my vocabulary. You were my friend for near 59 years and I loved you for all those years. Missing you is going to be rough. You were truly loved by Doug. I know that one day we will be together again, walking one streets of gold, walking hand in hand with our Lord Jesus Christ. Save me a seat.

Flo, you will be missed, my friend. Loved meeting you for lunch at the Golden Chicken while we worked on the tax forms for the Auxiilary. We had a blast.
