Edward Theodore Koehn

Edward Theodore Koehn,”Pops”, 79, of St. Leonard, Maryland passed away August 22, 2013 at his home. He was born on March 6, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Theodore and Anna Brockmann Koehn. Pops served in the Marine Corp from 1952 to 1955 where he was an Amphibian Tank Commander and was discharged at the rank of Sergeant. Pops moved to Calvert County from Florida in 1975, and went to work at Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant in the Radiation Protection Department. He retired from Calvert Cliffs in 1998 and went to work for Calvert Cliffs State Park where he greeted people and loved talking to them about the park. He was a Civil War buff, who enjoyed crabbing, fishing, boating, the Redskins and was an avid NASCAR Fan.
Pops is survived by his seven children; Vickie Moran of Greenville, SC, Craig Koehn, of St. Leonard, MD, Linda Perry of Portsmouth, RI, Brian Koehn of Lusby, MD, Holly Koehn of St. Leonard, MD, Eric Koehn of St. Leonard, MD ,and Krissy Govatos of Edgewater, MD. Grandfather of 18, great grandfather of nine, he is also survived by devoted friend and neighbor Christine Fitz.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday August 27, 2013 from 5-7 PM at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD where a service will follow at 7PM. Interment will be held on Wednesday August 28, 2013, 11 AM at Asbury Cemetery, Rt. 231, Barstow, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Hospice, P.O. Box 838 Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
