Edward “Riley” Harrison
October 30, 1927 – January 15, 2025
Edward Riley Harrison, 97, of Lusby, MD passed away on January 15, 2025 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
Born October 30, 1927 in Tilghman Island, MD, he was the son of the late Edward Elwood Harrison and Hazel (Price) Harrison.
Riley attended Beach Elementary School. He served in the U.S. Navy from December 1945 until March 1947, during WWII. Riley owned Riley’s Barber Shop in Solomons, MD. for thirty years, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed square dancing, softball, tennis, fishing, crabbing, travelling, cruising and spending time with family. Riley was a member of the Masonic Lodge 142 and Southern Calvert Baptist Church.
Riley is survived by his children, Riley Andy Harrison (Kathy) of Lusby, MD, Steven Williams (Elaine) of Lusby, MD and James Williams (KumDee) of Laurel, MD; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and his brother, Thomas Harrison of Barstow, MD. He was preceded in death in July 2003 by his wife, Evelyn J. Harrison whom he married on November 9, 1959 in San Diego, CA; his siblings, Livy Ann Bowles (Herman), Elwood Harrison, Henry Graham Harrison, and Mary Lee Harrison; and his sister-in-law, Mary Frances Harrison.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Southern Calvert Baptist Church, Lusby, MD at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025.
