Donna L Johnson age 72, passed away unexpectedly at her home in St. Leonard, MD on September 3, 2022.
Donna was born in Christiansburg, VA on May 27, 1950 to Leslie and June Cox. Donna and her family moved to St. Leonard, MD when she was a small child Donna attended school at Solomon’s Island Elementary School and went on to graduate at Calvert High School June 1969. Donna married Burton “Lenny” Johnson on June 21, 1969. On November 30, 1970 Donna and Lenny welcomed their daughter Jessica. In 1973, Donna, Lenny and Jessica moved out west and that is where Donna fell in love with the west, mountains and camping. In 1980, Donna, Lenny, Jessica and their dog Shooka moved back to Maryland. Donna loved doing crafts and was very talented at them. Donna’s love for her daughter and grandchildren were more than words could say, they were her pride and joy. She couldn’t wait to move to Washington state to be with her daughter, son in law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. My mom was my best friend and her grandson Dane said she was a badass biker grandma that loved a navy guy.
Donna leaves behind her daughter and son in law Jessica and Tony Osborn, grandson Dane Johnson, granddaughter April Osborn Frizzell (Luke), great granddaughters Harper and Haylee Frizzell, great grandson and 2 granddogs Hoss and Hippie, mother June Cox, sister Sharon Shields, brothers Doyle Cox (Cathy) and Michael Cox, nieces Tammy Baldwin, Dawn Cox Sklerov, Katelyn Cox (Brian), Jacklyn Wolf (Josh), nephew Christopher Cox (Larissa), and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Donna is preceeded in death, her dad Leslie Cox, nephew Dane Shields, grandparents Charlie and Josie Quesenberry and Albert and Christina Cox, ex-husband Lenny Johnson and her beloved dog Shooka.
A memorial service will be held Oct. 3 from 12 – 4 pm at the Dowell House in St. Leonard, MD.
