Donald John Callender (DJ) was called to eternal rest and glory by his Savior Jesus Christ on Friday August 7th, 2026. DJ was born on June 1st, 1944 in Newark, NJ to Rosalie Ann and Donald William Callender. DJ is survived by a host of family and friends too numerous to name. DJ was an active member of Jesus Devine Word (JDW) Catholic Church in Huntingtown, MD. As a parishioner he was an active Knights of Columbus member and an active attendee at the Saturday morning Men’s Group. He assisted in serving food at the monthly free will breakfast and BBQ at the various church eating festivities. Other personal accomplishments include being a former Grand Knight, Scout Leader, accomplished businessman and compassionate Christian Brother. It goes without saying that in his closing years the parish at JDW became his adopted family. The friendship, compassion and love the parish members demonstrated was miraculous to observe and those that loved him most are eternally grateful for the Christian love he received in his final hours.
