Don Gordon Edwards, 73, passed away June 22, 2016 at George Washington University Hospital. He was born March 18, 1943 in Washington, D.C. to Gordon and Carolyn Elva (Anderson) Edwards. Don was raised in Suitland and graduated from Suitland High School in 1962. He married Barbara Gaither in 1964 and they made their home in Camp Springs before moving to Clinton in 1976. They have lived in Huntingtown for the past year. Don was employed as a mechanic working on boats and automobiles. In his leisure time he enjoyed woodworking, fishing trap shooting and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Barbara Gaither Edwards of Huntingtown, daughter Carol B. Edwards of Silver Spring and son Robert G. Edwards of Huntingtown. He is also survived by grandchildren Amanda and Emily as well as many other extended family members.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date.
