Della Elizabeth Crouse, 87, of St. Leonard, Maryland passed away on September 1, 2013 in Washington D.C. She was born in Rural Retreat, Virginia on March 9, 1926 to the late Cleo Settle and Gordon Hale. Besides her parents, Della is preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter Fred Crouse, her devoted daughters, Betty A. Bowen and Mary H. Ledford and two brothers, Raymond and Marvin Hale.
Della was a wonderful cook and worked at Chesapeake Hills Country Club for over 20 years. She got her enjoyment in life out of playing Bingo, and watching the Price is Right. She touched many lives by her gracious and giving heart that put everyone else’s needs and wants ahead of hers.
Della is survived by her adoring grandchildren, Mary E. Armiger of Prince Frederick, Maryland, Helen Sue Miller of Lusby, Maryland, Denise J. Crivella of Broomes Island, Maryland and Allen Lee Ledford, Jr. of Lusby, Maryland. Great grandmother of Angela Armiger, Melissa Campbell, Roger Armiger and Christianna L. Crivella, she is also survived by three Great great grandchildren and her sister Helen Church of Greensboro, N.C.
The family will receive friends on Friday September 6, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, Maryland where services will be held on Saturday September 7, 2013 at 11 AM.
