Deborah Catherine “Debbie” Carroll

February 20, 1954- October 9, 2022

Deborah Catherine “Debbie” Carroll, 68, of Lothian passed away October 9, 2022, at her home. She was born February 20, 1954, in Washington, DC to Carl Sr. and Marjorie Lorraine (Bennett) Richards. Debbie grew up in District Heights and met Steven Carroll in 1979. They were officially married in 1994 and remained married until his passing in 2017. Debbie and her family moved to Tennessee and later West Virginia before moving back to Maryland in 1984. She worked various jobs throughout her life including painting with her father and grandfather, food service, and retail. She retired as a retail manager. Debbie loved animals, cooking, shopping, and playing BINGO and slot machines. Most of all though, Debbie loved spending time with her family and friends.

Debbie is survived by her daughter Diana Humm and her husband Joseph, son John Lynch, Jr., and her fiancé Frankie Brocato, Jr., all of Lothian. She is also survived by her grandchildren Christopher, John III, Tilla, Adam, Brianna, Brandon, Ashton, and Megan, great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Cayden, and a great-granddaughter on the way, sisters Jan Doyle and Diana Carroll, brother Carl “Sonny” Richards, Jr., and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Steven Carroll and daughter Tilla Marie Lynch.

    Omg I am so saddened to read this. I grew up in Olde Town Village, District Heights, MD with Debbie and we were the best of friends. I got married in 1969 and after that we lost contact. I ran into her at Walmart in Prince Frederick and she had given me her number, which I lost. I have been trying to find her for years… I am so very sorry. My sincere condolences to her remaining family.
