David Wayne Howell, 67, of Owings passed away February 16, 2025. He was born July 7, 1957 in Washington, DC to Henry A. and Dorothy Virginia (Shively) Howell. Dave met Michelle in 1991, they were together for 33 years and were married on December 18, 1999. They lived in South County for many years before moving to Owings in 2008. Dave worked in the parts department at Koons Ford Annapolis for over 40 years and developed many friendships during his career. Dave was an avid Washington sports fan, especially the Redskins and Capitals. He was one of the fortunate few who worked as a flag runner at the start of Redskins games from 1998 to 2000. He loved sports and enjoyed being active and playing golf.

Dave is survived by his loving wife Michelle Howell, daughter Chelsea Caspar of Prince Frederick, brother Ron Howell of Speedwell, TN, nieces Lori Degollado (Daniel) and Cara Naumoff (Tony), nephews Ron Howell, Jr. (Sherri) and Kurt Lohman (Patty), and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janice Lohman and sister-in-law Wanda Howell.

March 21 – Obituary: David Wayne Howell

I was lucky to have worked and hung out with Dave for 40 years. We worked together at Koons Ford since 1982 and through the years we formed a great friendship and built a thriving business there. Dave was all about family, work and sports and valued them in that order. Dave made a lot of friends working at Koons and he was well respected by employees and the customers he took care of. It was shocking and sad to hear of Dave’s passing when only days before we were laughing and having fun. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. Dave was one of the best and will surely be missed.
