Christopher Andrew Jones, 38, of Shady Side passed away February 13, 2023. He was eager to enter this world being born 10 weeks early on August 30, 1984, in Clinton to Douglas Allan and Debora Ann (Ritter) Jones. Chris was raised in Chesapeake Beach and graduated from Calvert High School in 2002. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, where he joined the drill team while in bootcamp. He was honorably discharged in 2006 and held various jobs before settling at Peterbilt for the past 10 plus years as a diesel mechanic. Chris also owned his own auto body detailing business. He was truly a gifted artist with detailing and painting vehicles. He loved going to car shows and was a Mustang enthusiast. Most of all he loved everything about the beach, ocean, boating and being with his family and friends.
Chris is survived by his parents Douglas and Debora Jones of Chesapeake Beach, grandmother Mary Jane Ritter of Bowie, his sister Stephani and husband Bradley Snyder of Fredericksburg, VA, and his brother Michael Jones and fiancé Fiona Olldashi of Dunkirk, and his nephews Alexander and Adam Snyder. Chris is also survived by his fiancé Ann Jordan and her son Liam Moyer, of Shady Side, her mother Judith Jordan of Shady Side, and her sister Sarah and her husband Ayrton Torres of Churchton.

Grew up in the same neighborhood as Chris. He was kind and quiet, much needed in the loud and mean world we live in. My wife, Leslie, also knew him from NJROTC at Calvery High school. Not a bad thing can be said about Chris, and I know he will be sorely missed by all who were made richer by his presence in their lives. My prayers and consolation to all of you who grieve his death.

The best younger years of my life were all spent with Chris Jones. To many stories to share, everything Chris did was with genuine compassion, the definition of a guy who will literally give the shirt off his back to someone who needs it. I am truly sorry for this loss, and prayers for all family and friends.

I am devastated about hearing this news. I grew up with Chris and his family and he was a very close friend of mine when we were growing up. He was one of my BEST friends I ever had, and I wish I had spoken to him sooner. I am not on social media and have lost contact with a lot of people but just recent always wanted to connect with Chris. God I wish had. I will be praying for Chris and the Jones family. I send my heartfelt condolences and prayers to everybody.
Chris, I will miss you my old friend, I’ll always remember you and the good times we had in school and as friends, you were always in a good mood and always there as a friend. Until we meet again my friend we love you and will miss you always.
