Christina Juanita Kirby, 96, of North Beach passed away June 22, 2022 at her home. She was born on March 29, 1926 in Washington, D.C., to Frederick and Juanita (Crowther) Hermann. Christina grew up and attended school in the district, and after graduating from high school went on to work at Red Cross, and the U.S. Government Publishing Office. She later worked for Giant Food in District Heights for fifteen years before her retirement. Christina was a member of Bradburn Memorial Bible Church in District Heights from 1947 to 2020, then became a member of North Beach Union Church. She was also a member of the Calvert Amateur Radio Association and was formerly involved in the District Heights Majorettes.
Christina is survived by her husband, Donald “Don” Kirby of North Beach, daughter Jeanette (Scott Owens) of Huntingtown, son James Boyd, grandchildren Matt Owens (Jess) of Annapolis, A.J. Owens (Molly) of West River, Leah Bucci (Josh) of John’s Island, SC, great-grandchildren Olivia, Abbi, and Ashley Owens, Madison Bucci, River and Easton Owens, nieces Marie Steel, Juanita Grosso (Pete), Katie Beitzel (Ray), extended family members Carol and Champ Rose, Rickie Collins, and Brian Kirby, as well as her great nieces and nephews as well as other loving family and friends.
