Chester Stanley “Chip” Jaworski Jr., 81, of Lusby, Maryland, passed away at home on October 11, 2026. He was born March 13, 1945, in Rhode Island, the son of Chester “Chet” Jaworski Sr. and Stephanie A. “Stella” Oksanish Jaworski.
After his family settled in Hicksville, New York, Chip attended Hicksville High School, where he played soccer, baseball, and basketball and ran track. He graduated with the Class of 1963 and went on to attend East Tennessee State University, where he studied education and played basketball as a guard for the Buccaneers.
In 1976, Chip married Linda, whom he met while he was teaching at Northern High School and she was working at Northern Middle School. They shared 36 years of marriage before her passing in 2012. Calvert County Public Schools played a significant role in Chip’s life, not only bringing him and Linda together but also providing him with many years as an educator and coach. Throughout his career, he taught physical education and Driver’s Education and coached a variety of sports at Northern High School, Calvert High School, and Mutual Elementary School.
Before his health declined, Chip especially enjoyed spending time with his golf league. He also loved visiting yard sales and auctions, always on the lookout for his next great “treasure,” usually with his ever-present cup of coffee in hand. More recently, he enjoyed reconnecting and finding friendship among those at American Legion Post 274.
Chip was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jaworski, who passed away in 2012, and his parents, Chester and Stephanie Jaworski.
Chip is survived by his daughters, Cheslie Williams and her husband, Edward Jr., of Prince Frederick, Maryland, and Courtney Jaworski and her boyfriend, Josh King, of Lusby, Maryland; his brother, Brad Jaworski of Holbrook, New York; his four grandchildren, Edward Williams III, Skylur King, Wyatt Lyons, and Gauge King; and other extended family members.
Whether on the golf course, at a yard sale searching for his next great find, or enjoying the company of friends, Chip leaves behind a lifetime of memories, adventures, and stories that will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

October 28 – Obituary: Chester Stanley “Chip” Jaworski, Jr.
Mr. Jaworski was my soccer coach at Northern High School in 1977. It was the first year NHS had a soccer team and Mr. Jaworski had the challenging task of assembling the team from ground zero as many of us had never even played the sport. He was a good coach and a good man. My condolences to his family and friends.

If you attended Calvert High in the late 80’s Mr. Jaworski taught you how drive. Mrs Jaworski taught me social studies at Southern Middle, may they both rest in peace.

Condolences to the Jaworski family. As a former teacher, I first met Linda when we opened NMS in 1976. Chip taught next door at NHS and I would see him on the athletic fields and at PE staff meetings.
Later, both Linda and I opened SMS in 1980 when there were only 350 students. It was an amazing adventure to teach those students in the lower part of the county. I also taught Chip & Linda’s daughter, Cheslie. It was my pleasure to teach her. I have fond memories of my time there with Linda & Cheslie. I recently saw Chip at Jack Brown’s memorial service and it was so nice that he remembered me and the years of our careers.

Great man, teacher and friend. He was my P.E teacher from kindergarten to 5th grade when I attended mutual elementary. Me and my classmates adored Mr. J and he was by far my favorite teacher I’ve ever had the pleasure of having. Later in life I began cutting his grass with my landscaping business. Always enjoyed my bi weekly visit to not only maintain his yard but to also just talk, catch up, tell old stories, and him share his knowledge, hope, jokes and wisdom. Great man that i genuinely respected, and considered it a pleasure to know and call him friend. R.I.P Mr. J. May god welcome him with open arms and help his family find peace and healing through these rough times. Prayers up for the Jaworski family. 🙏

Remembering Mr. & Mrs. Jaworski as we were neighbors in White Sands. He loved his yard sales and would come in his car with DUMPSTER written on the back. He always had a cup of coffee. I babysat Cheslie when she was very young for them. May you RIP.
