October 17 – Obituary: Charles Wesley Hall

Cheryl,
Until I saw you yesterday at the Fairgrounds I had no idea that you, the family and surely Calvert County had lost one
of the nicest men I ever knew. Although a year behind in school and one year apart to the day in age, Wesley had as many friends in the Class of ’63 as he did in his own class of ’64. That is just the way it was in Calvert County so long ago. I see my own grandsons today in school, classes so very much larger, relationships so less meaningful and a way of life all but gone as we knew it growing up here. As I told you when you shared the news, had I known I would have been there to say good-bye.
To you and the family, my best as move forward knowing that the thoughts and prayers of so so many are with you all.

Cheryl and family. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Like Joan and Dottie I grew up with Wesley and road the school bus together. My grandfather Leroy (Soldier) Bowen were friends and hunting buddies. I remember Dorman Raising pheasant for hunting. Wesley was a wonderful kind man and friend. He is truly going to be missed

July 8 – Obituary: Charles Wesley Hall

Cheryl & family,
Words can not express my sorry. Wes & I grew up together as our farms were neighbors. We use to swim in the river and dive off the old barge that was pulled ashore. It was used to build the Benedict bridge. We would play baseball, basket ball. We would go over on the farm to one of the ponds and go gigging for bull frogs. Aunt Ione, Wes mother would fry up the legs we thought we where king & queen. When it would snow we made a large snowman of which I still have a picture. Wes & his sister where standing on it & I was beside it. We would go sleigh riding and ice skate on the river building a fire out of old tires. We rode the bus together. As time goes on we went out separate ways always keeping in touch. When Wes & Cheryl got married she became my friend also. This past Christmas my friend Polly & I went to visit them & took banana pudding that Wesley dearly loved. Rest in peace my dear friend and till we meet again.
May God be with you all.
