Charles Ebenezer “Chuck” MacDonald II, 92, of Chesapeake Beach passed away September 3, 2026 at his home surrounded by family. He was born September 9, 1933 in Columbus, OH to Dallas King and Luanna Margaret (Eberts) MacDonald. Chuck grew up in Columbus, OH and later moved to St. Petersburg, FL. He graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and served in the United States Navy from 1956-1958 when he was honorably discharged. He married Betty Jo Treadwell in 1958, and they have been residents of Chesapeake Beach since the mid 1990’s. Chuck enjoyed a successful career with the United States Government working as a nuclear regulator for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for many years. Chuck was a very active volunteer with the Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, fishing, and walking on the boardwalk.
Chuck is survived by his wife Betty Jo MacDonald, sons Jeffrey MacDonald of Ft. Myers, FL and Kevin MacDonald and his wife Teresa of Frederick, granddaughter Kelly MacDonald, brother Douglas MacDonald, and sister Clarice Hall.

September 24 – Obituary: Charles Ebenezer “Chuck” MacDonald II
In 2001 I joined All Saints Episcopal Church in Sunderland, Md. The first couple to welcome me and my 5 yo daughter was Betty and Chuck MacDonald. They both welcomed us with warmth and open arms. I am an usher now and I welcome newcomers to All Saints Parish. Chuck was very active at church. He attended the Mens Group and helped with the Summer Crab cake Dinner and Pancake Dinner on Shrove Tuesday. Chuck was always warm and friendly with an excellent sense of humor. His memory was intact esp. sharing about his Nuclear Regulatory Commission work and when he first met Betty (his wife). Chuck read the Wall Street Journal every day and wanted my opinions re. the issues. Above all, Chuck LOVED his family. Betty and his 2 sons and granddaughter who is an M.D. He spoke of them every day. Chuck was a humble man, a loving husband and father and a good friend. It was an honor to be your friend, Chuck MacDonald! I will miss you.
