Charles “Charlie” (AKA CMac) McDaniel, an amazing husband, father, son and friend tragically passed away on January 29, 2025 at the age of 44. Charlie was born and raised in Calvert County Maryland.

Charlie was a self made man who loved his family, friends, the outdoors and sports. In particular, softball was one of the greatest passions of his life. Through this sport he met his wife, coached his children and connected and developed long lasting relationships with many in the community.

Charlie began his career joining the local 602 union right out of high school. He began as a welder and then turned his attention to chillers and installs. He worked in the field for fifteen years and spent the last eight years in different roles, including Project Manager, Service Manager, Business Development and Director of Service Operations. He currently holds Maryland and Virginia Master HVAC Licenses. He had recently been with American Mechanical Services (AMS) for 4 years before becoming the general manager.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife Heather and his four children Charlie Jr., Madison, Mariah and Wyatt. He is also survived by his parents, Carole and Tim Modlin and his grandmother Ella Irene McDaniel. Son in law to Becky and Andy Sievert, Brother of Christina Close (Anthony), Brother in law to Rachel Travis (Stevie), Alayna Sievert and Glenn Williams and Grandmother Bonnie Jean Turner. Uncle to Alyssa, Izzie, Anthony, Aubrey, Charlee, Cailynn, Trinity, Trenton and Brock. Lifelong friends Keith and Serenity Helwig, Rusty (Chop) and Jessica Helwig (Fab 6). Charlie was also a beloved coach, friend, co-worker, mentor and family to many.

In lieu of flowers, Charlie would be extremely pleased to continue his contributions to the following.
Sweet Bay Magnolia via Chesapeake Charities. Sweet Bay Magnolia is a non-profit that works together with multiple programs to provide services to children with Autism. It was a program that was near and dear to Charlie’s heart.
