Catherine Pitcher Humphreys

Catherine Pitcher Humphreys, 92, of Port Republic, Maryland passed away on May 24, 2024. She was born on April 14, 1932 to the late Elmer and Isabel Pitcher. Catherine was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Hunphreys, two daughters, Marcia Haynes and Donna Humphreys, and 9 siblings: Marie A. Pitcher, J. Ross Pitcher, Hazel M. Wertz, James “Jim” Pitcher, Mary Maude Pitcher, Elmer J. Pitcher, Violet M. Weems, Charles W. “Dickie” Pitcher, and Jameson L. Pitcher.

Catherine was a tobacco farmer and delivered the Washington Post for many years. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cook and care giver.

Catherine is survived by her granddaughter, Christina Marie Bennett and her husband Justin, and her grandson Roger A. “Tony” Humphreys, and 2 great grandchildren, Carson Bennett and Ryder Bennett.

There will be a graveside service on Friday May 31, 2024, 11 AM at Waters Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery, 5400 Mackall Road, St. Leonard, MD 20685. Memorial Contributions may be made to either Waters Memorial UM Church or charity of your choice.
