She was born on June 1, 1944 in Baltimore City to Golden Vance Anderson and Mary Olive Anderson. Carolyn was raised in Upper Marlboro and attended Frederick Sasscer High School. Carolyn married John Andrew Tucker on September 22, 1962, and they lived in Suitland for 20 years before moving back to Upper Marlboro, where they resided for the remainder of their lives. In her leisure time, Carolyn enjoyed playing cards, cutting the grass on her John Deere lawn mower while smoking her Newport cigarettes, and drinking her bottle of Mountain Dew. But most of all, she enjoyed taking trips, vacations, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter Ginger Higgs and her husband James of Upper Marlboro and her son John Tucker, Jr. “Andy” and his wife Kimberly of Dunkirk. She is also survived by grandchildren Amanda and Cody Higgs, Ashley Kent and her husband Justin, Andrew and Alyssa Tucker and her future great-grandson to be, Lincoln Kent and sisters Mary Jane Smith and husband Ronald of Prince Frederick, Robin Rawlings of Prince Frederick, and Wanda Anderson of Prince Frederick and brother-in-law Ernest Carter of Cheltenham. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Katherine Carter.
