Carolyn Lee Fox
June 22, 1945 – December 10, 2019
Carolyn Fox, 74 years old, passed away December 10, 2019
Carolyn (Bargewell) Fox was born at Washington Adventist Hospital on June 22, 1945 and was raised in Virginia. She was the spouse of Tom Fox Jr., sister of Gail Aikens, mother of James Lee [Liz] and Tom Fox III [Monica], and ‘Grand’ of two granddaughters, Sophia and Katerina Fox.
Carolyn worked as a receptionist most of her career but frequently took on office administrative management support roles due to her exceptional attention to detail and ‘can do’ attitude. She had fond memories of many she worked with, and especially enjoyed her time at The Cohen Group – her final place of employment prior to retirement.
Trips with her aunt, Gloria Sanford (Bubbles), were some of her fondest memories in recent years along with time spent at the Outer Banks and other locations associated with recent Gambrinus Stein Club conventions, visiting Jimmy and Liz Lee in Indiana, and any opportunity to see her granddaughters – Sophia and Katerina Fox, which she adored.
Carolyn was well loved and surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors in the days before she passed away – she will be missed by many.
An informal visitation to remember Carolyn Fox is scheduled for Friday, 13 DEC 2019 from 10:30-12:30 at Rausch Funeral Home at 4405 Broomes Island Rd., Port Republic, MD 20676 – condolences can also be left on the funeral home website: https://rauschfuneralhomes.com/service/carolyn-lee-fox/

Tom,
Although I did not meet your Mom, my guess is a big part of who you are today is because of her. Always keep that reminder close as it is just one way she will always be with you. I wish you and your family peace as you honor your Mom and care for one another in this difficult time.
Fred and I knew Carol through Stein Collectors International. She was exceptionally good at working with the hotels in the planning of our annual conventions the past several years. She was an amazing bundle of energy and enthusiasm. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family as they pass through this time of sorrow and rememberance. I wish to leave you with these thoughts as was used at several memorials for people close to us.
Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Nothing has happened.
Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I and you are you,
and the old life that we lived so fondly together
is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that, we still are.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way, which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the hint of shadow upon it.
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is death but a negligible accident.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere near, just around the corner.
All is well.
Fred and Joann Ellis
Our sincere condolences to the family of Carol. I had the honor of meeting her through your Aunt Gloria Sanford. May she rest in peace and as a family you are able to support each other in the days to come. A beautiful sweet soul that was taken way to soon.

Dear family,
So sorry for your lost. Carol was a very special person and friend. Martin and I had work with Carol on SCI Conventions along with Dick Strom for many years. She was such a pleasure to work with, we both thought alike which made things better! We would enjoy talking many times on the phone. She was a wonderful person and strong woman. She did her very best in everything she did, specially with her family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. She will really be missed.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Carol. I had the pleasure of meeting her through SCI and most recently at the convention in Richmond. She was a joy to be with and also a joy to watch as she attended to all the details of the event. She was gracious, kind, fun filled, in control and a delight to all. Her memory will always bring a smile to my heart. Katie Jonke
Dear Tom,
Your mom was more than just a co-worker at The Cohen Group…. she was a close friend and confidant to many of us. We shared so many experiences during the eight years that we worked together and over the years after she retired. I shall miss her being a part of my life, but will always treasure the memories.
