Carl S. Stallings
November 23, 1937 – July 9, 2022

Carl Spencer Stallings, 84, of Shady Side, MD passed away July 9, 2022. Carl was born November 23, 1937, in Prince Frederick, MD to Hamilton C. and Myrtle E. (Bowen) Stallings. He was raised in Calvert County where he attended school. He married Loretta V. Ford March 13, 1960, and they lived in Huntingtown until moving to Shady Side in the early 1980’s. Carl was employed in construction as a rodman with Rodman’s Local 201, Washington, D.C., and had been retired for the past twenty years. In retirement, Carl also worked as a commercial crabber. He was a lifelong member of the Three River Sportsman Club in Harwood, Maryland. He also enjoyed fishing, and playing cards, especially poker, at his union hall.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife Loretta in 2001, his son Thomas H. “Tommy” Stallings, brothers Hamilton “Hoppy”, Oscar, Jerome, William (Billy) Stallings, and a sister Delores Clark. He is survived by his son Carl T. Stallings of Shady Side, granddaughter Carla Lea (Stallings) DiCarlo, husband Jason, and great-grandsons Jacob and Tanner, great-granddaughter Amelia, granddaughter Amanda Lynn (Stallings) Bearns and husband Charles, and great-grandson Charlie, all of Lusby, and his brother Raymond Stallings and wife Carol of Tracy’s Landing.
