Betty Lou Rathbun, age 94, passed away on December 19, 2024, in Prince Frederick, MD, after a yearslong struggle with dementia. She was born in Buffalo, NY, on September 2, 1930, and is predeceased by her father, Frank Kilbert, her mother, Helen Miller Kilbert, and her sister, Grace Kilbert Schneider. She grew up in Buffalo and attended D’Youville College and the University of Pennsylvania. She later acquired a doctorate in history from the University of Buffalo. She was an avid tennis player, enjoyed gardening and antiquing, and renovated several historic houses. She also resided in Fort Lauderdale and Stuart, FL, and Sterling, VA. She is survived by her three children, Elizabeth Rathbun, David Rathbun and Dr. Nancy Ramsey, and two grandchildren, Helen and Thomas. Private service to be held at a later date.
