Audrey Elizabeth Paddy, 96, of Lothian passed away December 19, 2020. She was born July 17, 1924 to Louis and Emma Louise (Disney) Beall. Audrey was raised in Upper Marlboro and graduated from Frederick Sasscer High School. After graduating, Audrey worked as a secretary in Washington, DC until she met and married James Wilbur Paddy, Sr. In 1954, Audrey and James bought a farm in Lothian where they raised tobacco for 35 years. Audrey later opened strawberry fields on the farm and worked the fields for 17 years. She also helped out at the family produce stand on 258, Paddy’s Produce. Audrey was an active member of Wesley Chapel and enjoyed traveling with her church group. She also enjoyed cooking, canning, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband James Wilbur Paddy, Sr. in 1972 and brothers Edward, Ernest, and Louis Beall. She is survived by her children Darlene Rattie and husband James of Kenley, NC, Jo-Ann Paddy Kim and husband Jin of Lothian, and James “Jimmy” Paddy, Jr. and wife Paula of Lothian, 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
