Arthur Lee “Butch” Deel

Arthur Lee (Butch) Deel, 62 of Sunderland, Maryland recently lost his battle with cancer and passed away at the home of his sister Lula A. Greenwood in Odenton, MD on May 9, 2020. He was born May 14, 1957 in Welch, WV, and was the youngest child born to the late Henry P. and Nettie M. (McGraw) Deel. He was a resident of Anawalt, WV until 1983 when he relocated to Sunderland, MD. His early working years included jobs in coal mining and construction, but he spent the majority of his career working at auto body shops in Calvert County.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Larkin Deel (infant), Cecil B. Deel of Cleveland, TN, and William J. Deel of Port Republic, MD, as well as aunts, uncles and one nephew. He is survived by three brothers, Bobbie L. Deel of Annapolis, MD, James F. Deel (Betty) of Shallotte, NC, and John H. Deel (Lil) of Hillsville, VA. He also leaves behind four sisters, Betty J. Twigg of Naples, FL, Mary Sue DeFoe (Dennis) of Fort Myers, FL, Rose Ella Flora (Alan) of Prince Frederick, MD, and Lula A. Greenwood (Joseph) of Odenton, MD, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and many friends as well.

There are no services planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Hospice of the Chesapeake.
