December 14 – Obituary: Anna Louise Brady

SL & Family

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I was overseas when I heard the news and the sight would not allow me to send a condolence. Your mom was so kind when I stopped by. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

December 9 – Obituary: Anna Louise Brady

Scott and I moved to Chaneyville Road in May of 1990.  We did not know anybody when we moved there.  We would drive by the Brady’s farm and would wave to Lewis and Anna, who would be sitting under the large trees out in front of their home.  One day we met them and I never knew at that time, how they would become such a huge part of our lives. Our son was born later that year and our daughter came along a few years later,  Anna actually came all the way to the hospital in Laurel to visit with us (I believe Scott drove her).  I was a young mom who lost her mom when I was younger.  Anna was so helpful and would help in anyway she could.  As long as they were not “cutting tobacco!”  She had some wonderful sayings that I will never forget.  One particular one she would say to my babies when they would stretch  – “You would stretch a mile if you didn’t have to walk back”.  My kids starting calling them Aunt Anna and Uncle Lewis when they could talk.  Aunt Anna would make Jeff her famous pickled beets and applesauce.  Anna and Lewis would come to our house Christmas morning, birthdays, and special occasions .  Speaking of birthdays…she would make Scott her famous fresh coconut cake for his birthday every year.  He said he has never had one taste so good.  We moved to another state a few years ago and  sadly we had lost touch. I will alway admire and appreciate everything she did for me and my family.  She was an amazing woman who was so thoughtful, caring and loving.  RIP my very special friend.
